Approach to my work
I look to understanding the end user, gaining a deeper understanding of their ever evolving needs, values and behaviours through utilising design methods. I look to challenge every approach as I feel by doing this is crucial to ensuring different perspectives are looked at. I feel it is important to define and deliver what the user needs whither it be an experience, relationship, service or hard tangible product.
What I feel I have learned along the way
Through my time so far I have learned to explore complex social, ethical and environmental issues as subject matter for design. The endless value to engage with and understand the people who will use and be affected by the designs, and apply research methods and analytical skills from the Social Sciences in order to do so.
What I want to explore next
Taking my design direction further I want to build on designing meaningful experiences for people who are engaging with it. Within my final year projects I focused on designing for the future customer, posing its own challenges when incorporating the likes of AI and ML, so focusing on designing meaningful experiences for end users in the near or far future.
